The International Conference on Data Security and Privacy Protection (DSPP) is an established annual international conference on data security and privacy protection. DSPP 2024 will be held in Xi'an, from October 25th to October 28th, 2024. DSPP 2024 promotes and stimulates discussion on the latest theory, algorithms, applications, and emerging topics on data security and privacy protection. DSPP 2024 encourages the cross-fertilization of ideas and provides a platform for researchers, professionals, and students from all around the world to discuss and present their findings.

The main objectives of this conference with regard to data security and privacy protection are as follows: Encouraging the study, improve the practice, and advance the knowledge; Encouraging the applied research. The International Conference on Data Security and Privacy Protection 2024 scope covers the following areas (but not limited to):
Authors are invited to submit original papers: they must not substantially duplicate work that any of the authors have published elsewhere or have submitted in parallel to any other conferences that have proceedings or any journal. The proceedings will be published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series (LNCS).
Submitted papers must follow the LNCS template from the time they are submitted. The submission must be anonymous, with no author names, affiliations, acknowledgements, or obvious references. Submitted papers should be at most 16 pages (using 10-point font), excluding the bibliography and well-marked appendices, and at most 20 pages total. Committee members are not required to read the appendices, so the paper should be intelligible without them. All submissions must be written in English.

Submissions not meeting these guidelines risk rejection without consideration of their merits. Authors of accepted papers must agree with Springer LNCS copyright and guarantee that their papers will be presented at the conference. All submissions must be received by 11:59 PM (UTC-8) on the day of the corresponding deadline.

Title: The Persistent Problem of Data Insecurity
Elisa Bertino is the Distinguished Samuel Conte professor of Computer Science at Purdue University. She serves as Director of the Purdue Cyberspace Security Lab (Cyber2Slab). Prior to joining Purdue, she was a professor and department head at the Department of Computer Science and Communication of the University of Milan. She has been a visiting researcher at the IBM Research Laboratory in San Jose (now Almaden), at Rutgers University, at Telcordia Technologies. She has also held visiting professor positions at the Singapore National University and the Singapore Management University. Her recent research focuses on security and privacy of cellular networks and IoT systems, and on edge analytics for cybersecurity. Elisa Bertino is a Fellow member of ACM, IEEE, and AAAS. She received the 2002 IEEE Edward J. McCluskey Technical Achievement Award for “For outstanding contributions to database systems and database security and advanced data management systems”, the 2005 IEEE Computer Society Tsutomu Kanai Award for “Pioneering and innovative research contributions to secure distributed systems”, the 2019-2020 ACM Athena Lecturer Award, and the 2021 IEEE 2021 Innovation in Societal Infrastructure Award. She received an Honorary Doctorate from Aalborg University in 2021 and an Honorary Research Doctorate in Computer Science from the University of Salerno in 2023. She is currently serving as ACM Vice-president.

Dr Jinjun Chen is a Professor from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. He holds a PhD in Information Technology from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. His research interests include data privacy and security, cloud computing, scalable data processing, data systems and related various research topics. His research results have been published in more than 300 papers in international journals and conferences. He received various awards such as IEEE TCSC Award for Excellence in Scalable Computing and Australia’s Top Researchers. He has served as an Associate Editor for various journals such as ACM Computing Surveys, IEEE TC, TCC and TSUSC. He is a MAE (Academia Europea) and IEEE Fellow (IEEE Computer Society). He is Chair for IEEE TCSC (Technical Community for Scalable Computing).

Title: Research on Blockchain Networks for Ubiquitous Intelligence
Xiuzhen Cheng is a Professor and the Dean of School of Computer Science and Technology at Shandong University, the Dean of School of Artificial Intelligence at Shandong University-Inspur, the Director of Ministry of Education Engineering Center for Digital Blockchain Integration, and the Director of the Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory of Theory and Technology for Computation and Network Integration. She is a Fellow member of IEEE, CSEE, AAIA, National overseas high-level talent, and Chief Scientist of the National Key Research and Development Program. Her Research focuses on the Broad area of Distributed and Trusted Computing, particularly in Blockchain Computing, Edge Computing, IoT security, and Responsible AI. She served/is serving on the editorial boards of several journals and the chair for several international conferences, is the founder and steering committee chair of the International Conference on WASA, and the founding Editor of the High-Confidence Computing Journal. Her current H-Index is 69, and the total number of Google Citations is 20,000+.

Title: Post-Quantum Cryptography: Research and Migration
Robert H. Deng (Fellow, IEEE) is AXA Chair Professor of cybersecurity, the Director of the Secure Mobile Centre, and the Deputy Dean for Faculty and Research, School of Information Systems, Singapore Management University (SMU). His research interests are in the areas of data security and privacy, network security, and system security. He received the Outstanding University Researcher Award from the National University of Singapore, the Lee Kuan Yew Fellowship for Research Excellence from SMU, and the Asia–Pacific Information Security Leadership Achievements Community Service Star from the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium. He serves/served on many editorial boards and conference committees, including the Editorial Boards of ACM Transactions on Privacy and Security, the IEEE Security and Privacy, the IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing, the IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, the Journal of Computer Science and Technology, and the Steering Committee Chair of the ACM Asia Conference on Computer and Communications Security. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Engineering Singapore.

Title: AI Security and Assessment
Kui Ren is a Professor and Associate Dean of College of Computer Science and Technology at Zhejiang University, where he also directs the Institute of Cyber Science and Technology. Before that, he was SUNY Empire Innovation Professor at State University of New York at Buffalo. He received his PhD degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Kui’s current research interests include Data Security, IoT Security, AI Security, and Privacy. He received IEEE CISTC Technical Recognition Award in 2017, SUNY Chancellor’s Research Excellence Award in 2017, Sigma Xi/IIT Research Excellence Award in 2012, and NSF CAREER Award in 2011. Kui has published more than 300 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He has received several Best Paper Awards and Test of Time Paper Award, including IEEE ICDCS’20, ACM MobiSys’20, IEEE INFOCOM’20, IEEE Globecom’19, ChinaCrypt’18, ACM ASIACCS’18, ICPADS’18, IEEE ICDCS’17, IWQoS’17, and ICNP’11. His H-index is 76, and his total citation has exceeded 35,000, according to Google Scholar (as of March 2021). Kui is a Fellow of ACM and IEEE. He currently serves as an area/associate editor for ACM Trans. On Cyber Physical Systems, IEEE Trans. on Dependable and Secure Computing, IEEE Trans. on Service Computing, IEEE Trans. on Networking, IEEE Trans. on Mobile Computing, IEEE Wireless Communications, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, and Computer Networks.

Title: Cyber-Physical-Social Intelligence
Laurence T. Yang is the Academic Vice President of Zhengzhou University, the Chief Professor of the Discipline, and the Dean of the School of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence . He received his BE in Computer Science and Technology and BSc in Applied Physics both from Tsinghua University, China and Ph.D in Computer Science from University of Victoria, Canada. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada, a Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences, a Fellow of IEEE/IET/AAIA, a recipient of the National Overseas High-Level Talent Program, among the top 2% of scientists worldwide as recognized by Stanford University, a Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate Analytics, an ACM Distinguished Scientist, and the Chief Scientist of a major national science and technology innovation project. His research mainly focuses on Cyber-Physical-Social Intelligence studies. His works in these areas have received more than 41600+ citations and H-index 102. He has published 400+ papers in the above areas on top IEEE/ACM Transactions/Journals including 8 and 44 papers as top 0.1% and top 1% highly-cited ESI papers, respectively. In addition, he is serving as an editor for many international journals and is an author/co-author or an editor/co-editor of more than 25 books from well-known publishers, invited to give around 100 keynote talks at various international conferences and symposia.His recent honours and awards include the IEEE Canada C. C. Gotlieb Computer Medal (2020), Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (2020), and the John B. Stirling Medal from the Engineering Institute of Canada (2021).

Yan Zhang is currently Full Professor with the Department of Informatics, University of Oslo, Norway. His recent research interests include next-generation wireless communication networks and smart and secure IoT. He is an Editor (or Area Editor, Senior Editor, Associate Editor) for several IEEE transactions/magazine. His works in these areas have received more than 47000+ citations and H-index 109. Since 2018, he was a recipient of the global “Highly Cited Researcher” Award (Web of Science top 1% most cited worldwide) for six years. He is Fellow of IEEE, Fellow of IET, elected member of Academia Europaea (MAE), elected member of the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters (DKNVS), and elected member of Norwegian Academy of Technological Sciences (NTVA).

At least one author for each accepted paper must complete an Author Registration before the registration due (September 15, 2024), in order for the paper to be included in the
conference proceedings.
